When you ask the store personnel if they accept Visa, you don’t need to explain yourself. They already know that you mean a credit card. However, Visa has another way to make people frequent the shopping centers more often—the Visa Gift Card.
You don’t need to provide account information in order for you to get your hands on a Visa Gift Card. You can avail of this card in three ways. You can purchase it personally, you can go online, or you can get it via phone.
A Visa Gift Card is non-reloadable. In simpler terms, you cannot put money on top of the value of the card determined by the purchaser. On the other hand, there is no rule stated in the terms and conditions that the cardholder must spend all the money in the card in a single purchase. For instances when the item to be purchased is worth more than the Visa Gift Card, an additional method of payment is required either cash, check, or debit card.
Although a Visa Gift Card is non-reloadable, you better hold on to it even after the amount is depleted. There are some stores which require customers to present the original mode of payment when returning items. So until you are sure that you will not return all the items you have bought through the gift card, keep your Visa Gift Card.
Since it is provided by Visa, the gift card is accepted in millions of stores around the United States. It is not limited to department stores; it can also be presented in other establishments such as restaurants, hotels, car rentals, and even in gas stations.
